A Strabane security alert in which a number of homes were evacuated has been declared an elaborate hoax.
The Ballycolman Avenue/Melvin View area of the town had been cordoned off on Monday morning.
Army bomb disposal officers carried out a controlled explosion and declared the device a hoax.
During the alert about 30 to 40 people left their homes, and some were accommodated in a local community centre.
