CJ: Ombudsman’s figures 'malicious, a hoax'

MANILA, Philippines - Chief Justice Renato Corona dismissed Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales' statements about his dollar accounts as "malicious" and the figures she gave as a "hoax," and urged her to resign from her post once she is proven wrong.

In a statement, Corona said: "The initial testimony of the Honorable Ombudsman is quite unfortunate, if not very malicious. I don't know how she came up with her own mathematical equation."

He described Carpio Morales' presentation a "hodgepodge," convoluting the amounts in his dollar accounts as well as the minds of the public.

"The number of accounts alone is at best ridiculous. Her PowerPoint diagram is a lantern of lies which only messed up her presentation, contrary to what some believe now as damning evidence," Corona said.

He said Carpio Morales does not know what she is talking about, as shown by her "chaotic" accounting.

"Either she does not know what she is talking about, or is purposely misleading the Impeachment Court and the public. Is she even privy to how the [Anti-Money Laundering Council] arrived at the bloated numbers?" he asked.

He added, "we will debunk all her bloated numbers. And once she is proven wrong, I urge her to immediately resign from her post for allowing herself to be used by this Administration and making a laughingstock of 'government auditing'."

LRA hoax

Corona tagged Carpio Morales' alleged evidence as another "LRA hoax," referring to the bloated list that the Land Registration Authority (LRA) produced for the prosecution.

The LRA said Corona has 45 properties which it had computer-generated.

The prosecution later said they only have proof of 21 titles against Corona, which includes parking lots.

The defense said Corona only has five properties which were properly indicated in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth.

Carpio Morales on Monday said Corona had 82 dollar accounts as of 2011.

The accounts are: BPI San Francisco del Monte - 34, BPI Tandang Sora - 18, BPI Acropolis - 8, BPI Management Investment Corp - 1, PSBank Cainta - 8, PSBank Katipunan - 6, Allied Bank Corp. Kamias - 4, Deutsche - 2, Citibank – 1

She said she arrived at the alleged more than $ 10 million deposits in Corona's accounts by adding the "transactional balances."

Asked what a transactional balance is, Carpio Morales said these are "fresh deposits."

She said she asked the Commission on Audit (COA) to help her with her own mathematical evaluation, in particular Commissioner Heidi Mendoza and Chairman Grace Pulido Tan.

Her evidence came from a document sent to her by AMLC Executive Director Vicente Aquino.

Before you say anything, Herobrine is fake, always has been fake, and searching for 'real' Herobrine videos is futile. This is just a lil' parody. Except there may well be a Herobrine existing in the Xbox 360 version of the game. Until I see him myself, I cannot confirm this. The Herobrine is the old legend of Minecraft. A pupil-less Steve who was a representation of Notch's dead brother. Fortunately, Notch has no dead brother. Unforunately, I am very real. The Herobrine story was a complete hoax. It involved another player in a singleplayer world being visible in the fog. Also in the hoax were 1x2 shafts lit with redstone torches and pyramid buildings which were apparently built by this Herobrine. There's more on the story somewhere else in the internet. After Iran announced last week that it had launched a monkey into space, web sleuths compared before and after photos of the furry astronaut and cried hoax. College Place Police Call Walmart Bomb Threat a Phony

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - College Place Police are investigating an apparent bomb threat hoax at Walmart over the weekend.   Saturday night, police say the College Place Walmart called 911, reporting a bomb threat the store received, set to go off at 6:19 on Sunday morning. Officers and the College Place Fire Department arrived on scene and evacuated the store just before 1 AM that night. Officers and firefighters stayed there overnight blocking the doors, and didn't allow customers or employees back in until 7 AM.   Police say 6:19 came and went, but nothing exploded, no one got hurt, and they couldn't find any sort of explosive device, leading officers to believe the incident was an apparent hoax.
