Pizza shop worker offered phony discounts to steal money
COURTHOUSE - A former Domino's Pizza employee admitted to stealing more than $ 2,000 from the company's West Norriton store by offering customers phony discounts.
Troy Zappala, 29, of Lower Providence, pleaded guilty to one count of theft by deception on Monday, according to court papers. He was sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to repay $ 2,018.57 in restitution.
Between July and September, the defendant created false discounts on food orders then kept the funds generated by the phony offer. The store owner detected the scheme and contacted West Norriton police, who arrested Zappala last September.
