crime-police VIERA, Fla. -

A Brevard County SWAT team surrounded a home in a Viera neighborhood only to find out the call was a hoax on Tuesday evening.

Deputies were called to a home in the 1900 block of Laramie Circle, which is off Crane Creek Boulevard between Interstate 95 and Murrell Road, at about 5 p.m.

Investigators said a woman called Philadelphia police claiming she had murdered her husband and then stuffed him in a trunk after the two traveled to Atlantic City. The caller said she was bringing the body to her grandparents' house in Viera.

Neighbors gave deputies a spare key to investigate because the grandparents were out of town. Deputies found nothing at the home.

Deputies spoke with the homeowner's granddaughter, who said she had no idea about the call and that her husband was fine.

Deputies have a lead as to who the hoax caller was.

Laramie Circle was partially closed while police investigated.

Deputies said hoax calls are becoming more frequent throughout the country.
