Charges still not filed in UW-Parkside hate crime hoax

KENOSHA- It's been a week since a UW-Parkside student confessed to a hate crime hoax.  So why haven't any charges been filed?

Authorities say it does seem like this should be an open and shut case, but there's more to the story.  And they still need more information before they can wrap it up.

Students at UW-Parkside are still talking about the racist threat on campus that turned out to be a hoax.  Two nooses and a hit list had the campus on high alert.

"I think they need to get to the bottom of it just be done with it so the campus can return to complete
normalcy." said Sara Kragness, a freshman at UW-Parkside.  Meanwhile, junior Rachel Henry told TODAY'S TMJ4, "I really haven't heard anything besides the fact that they caught the person who made the hit list, so I really don't know any information."

And that is part of the issue.  Khalilah Ford confessed to authorities, but only to making the hit list.

Sgt. Bill Beth of the Kenosha County sheriff's department told TODAY'S TMJ4, "It just came to light as we kind of looked through everything that there are a few loose ends."

Like, who is responsible for those nooses?  Is it Ford?  Are there others involved?  "People have kind of stopped talking so we're kind of seeing how we can get to that information," said Sgt. Bill Beth.

While they work on that, students say the important thing is that they're still sticking together.

"We still know that it happened and we're, as a community I think, we're doing a lot better than we were certainly last week at this time." said junior Kevin Coughlin. 

"Even though we had a bad situation, we brought something good from it, so that's kind of a good thing to see happening," said freshman Sara Kragness.

The school still won't comment on whether Ford has been expelled, but we do know that she's moved out of the dorm.  Charges against her could be filed as early as next week.

Moon hoax -- Wires again? Still?

Moon hoax fans are the ones who seem to be "hung up." They just can't cut themselves free of the ridiculous claim that the Apollo missions were filmed on earth and the astronauts are dangling from wires, manipulated by "puppeteers" above them. All of this because somebody saw a lens flare in two videos when the VHF antennas on the PLSS backs flashed very brightly in the sunlight. Maybe this video will help them to disentangle themselves from such a goofy idea before they hang themselves with it.

After Iran announced last week that it had launched a monkey into space, web sleuths compared before and after photos of the furry astronaut and cried hoax. College Place Police Call Walmart Bomb Threat a Phony

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - College Place Police are investigating an apparent bomb threat hoax at Walmart over the weekend.   Saturday night, police say the College Place Walmart called 911, reporting a bomb threat the store received, set to go off at 6:19 on Sunday morning. Officers and the College Place Fire Department arrived on scene and evacuated the store just before 1 AM that night. Officers and firefighters stayed there overnight blocking the doors, and didn't allow customers or employees back in until 7 AM.   Police say 6:19 came and went, but nothing exploded, no one got hurt, and they couldn't find any sort of explosive device, leading officers to believe the incident was an apparent hoax.
