LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A strip search hoax at a Bullitt County McDonald's restaurant in 2004 is the basis of a new movie. The 2004 hoax prompted Louise Ogborn to sue the restaurant chain. A jury awarded her $ 6 million, but the case was later settled for an undisclosed amount. The movie, Compliance, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter called Craig Zobel's movie "provocative."Zobel told the magazine that he "lifted the disturbing incident from news of a similar crime that took place at a McDonald's in 2004."Ogborn's attorney, Ann Oldfather, told WLKY she was surprised to hear about the movie.Oldfather said people associated with the film never contacted her or Ogborn.
